Andrea Brousseau is an incredible woman, athlete, friend, and wife. She is married to Caleb Brousseau, who was my first guest. Andrea is an above-the-knee amputee who is living her best life. Andrea was placed in an adaptive ski program when she was five, which she hated, had a fit, and had to be encouraged by candy to make it down the hill. It didn't go well, but she joined an excellent adaptive ski program at Mount Washington, which changed her trajectory and love for skiing. Then she got involved with the para-alpine ski team as a youth and teenager, which took her to Whistler. Her progression continued, and she started travelling around North America and Europe. Unfortunately, Andrea took a hard crash during a run in the 2010 games and suffered a severe concussion which stopped her from ski racing. Despite her crash, Andrea's love for skiing continued.
Fast forward to today, Andrea is shredding deep west coast powder at Shames Mountain Ski Area outside her hometown of Terrace, B.C., riding her eMTB and going on epic adventures with her husband.
Andrea discusses her time as an adaptive ski racer, the challenges of riding with one ski, learning how to ride an eMTB, losing a prosthetic leg, and the term "disability."
