Shab-e-Mehraj is the 'Night of Ascent'. This is the time when, according to Muslim belief, Prophet Muhammad was led to heaven by archangel Gabriel, after which he, the holy messenger, achieved a spiritual state. Muslims pray to the Lord and the Prophet on this auspicious day.
