Hi lovelies! This Sunday we explore the final part (for now) in my series on WWII Art Restitution: The Story of the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I. This episode is incredibly important to me because Adele's story, and the story of her niece Maria Altmann, is so indicative of the necessity for cultural property restitution. I wanted to highlight both of these amazing women and the strides each made to maintain their family legacy. Happy Sunday, Lovelies! This week we explore the second part in my series about the impact of the art theft carried out by the Nazi's during WWI. We specifically explore the lives of Walter Westfeld and Max Silberberg, and the ways in which the restitution cases surrounding their stolen works mirror the discrimination they experienced during their lives.
