Extreme religious beliefs were at the center of criminal cases for Ruby Franke in Utah and Lori Vallow Daybell in Idaho. Vallow Daybell was convicted of murdering her two children, as well as her new husband’s first wife. Franke entered a guilty plea to multiple counts of aggravated child abuse.
