EducationUSA Australia
Before Dr Geoffrey Garret became a U.S. college leading political scientist and academic administrator, he was an Aussie from Canberra.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Australia National University before heading to the U.S. and Duke University where he completed both his master’s and PhD degrees.
Dr Garett is the dean at University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and before that role was dean of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
This conversation with Dr Garett is enlightening as he discusses his own pathway to U.S. college, while illustrating what Aussie high school students can be looking for in finding their own academic and financial fit in considering U.S. colleges.
He importantly discusses some of the differences between a U.S. & Australian higher education experience, introduces terminology, explains the processes of applying to U.S. college while also sharing what life on a U.S. college can be like and how campus living is so enriching.
