Recently, I heard a commentator state that “World War III has already begun.” When we look at the burgeoning level of carnage worldwide, this perspective is difficult to dispute.

What does a world war look like in an era when so many countries hold the power to make our entire planet unlivable with the activation of a five-minute sequence of codes? Perhaps war becomes clusters of conflict scattered around the globe, each one marginally restrained from ultimate destruction, as our species is forced to look itself in the eye.

Warfare has evolved in its form, and yet the human shadow that lives behind violence, vengeance, and intentional harm is exactly what it has always been. In an era of instantaneous, globally visible information, we bear witness as never before.

It is not just
that we are meant
to no longer take sides
to no longer say
I stand with this one
I stand with that one
but when we agree
to see the inherent shadow
within us all
we tell the truth
and when we tell the truth
we are humbled
and when we are humbled
we return to peace..

Ultimately, the question of war and war crimes always leads us to a spiritual dilemma. How do we explain the brutal deaths of tens of thousands of children? Where do we find understanding in the tragedies of the innocent?

It has always been my belief that once we truly digest a key principle of the soul on a personal level, what is true for the individual becomes true for the collective. If we can dare to live in trust that pain is our teacher; if we truly understand that every soul has a journey spanning lifetimes, including a range of lived experiences as victim, persecutor, and saviour, this may allow us to rise up from helplessness and despair. To see the world through a lens of nihilism, however, offers no contribution to our healing. To understand that every soul is ultimately held in the arms of the Creator may grant Grace, even to the darkest of human days.

There is
no holy war
There is
no holy hate
And there is never
ever
such a thing
as holy vengeance
for there is no god
of any name
who celebrates this
base human emotion
To suggest otherwise
reveals only
how far we are willing
to travel
from the truth of
Divine Love
to justify our own
unholy games
The sacred
is now fully absent
from these lands
where once
the prophets roamed
There is nothing righteous here...

Once we dare to digest the view that there is inherent meaning found even in the horrors of the day, then we are poised to claim a process of transformation, rather than reflexive and ineffective hate.

This is the invitation always, more and more as the frequency rises, commanding the shadow to reveal itself fully, and then, be transmuted before our eyes.

Please share your thoughts on this powerful and timely transmission. What have we learned? What can we learn today?

If you have not yet purchased the DHC Audio Series, you have received an abbreviated audio to offer a taste of the full experience.
