No-Shave November continues as we discuss 300 (2006) and all its bearded glory. It's about a relatively tiny group of Spartans who battle the entire Persian army. Visually styled after the graphic novel it was adapted from, 300 was well-received by audiences. Our bearded friend Ron from Barrel Aged Flicks joins us. We discuss Escape From New York (1981), as it's No-Shave November and Kurt Russell forgot to shave for a few days. It's the story of a convicted bank robber who tries to earn his freedom by rescuing the President, who recently crash landed into the prison. Also the prison is the entire island of Manhattan. Also there's no law enforcement presence in the prison. Also his neck will explode if he fails. It's a cult classic film, and we're trying to figure out why. Spoil My Movie has a phone number! It's "No Shave November" so we're looking at films with bearded characters. This week we discus True Grit (2010). It's a period drama/western film, a remake of the 1969 movie of the same name, and an adaptation of the novel of the same name, by author Charles Portis. True Grit tells the story of a stubborn teenager who enlists the help of a tough US Marshal to track down her father’s murderer.
