Why Did WADA Ban Weed for Olympians? with Dr. Jonny Lisano & Liz Thompson

This week I am so excited to share my conversation with <a href='https://www.unco.edu/nhs/sport-exercise-science/faculty-staff/laura-stewart.aspx'>Dr. Laura Stewart - professor in the department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, &amp; Dietetics at University of Northern Colorado</a>. I met Laura at the ACSM Rocky Mountain meeting in Spring of 2021 where we gave two out of the three talks that day about cannabis and exercise and saw her again at the Cannabis Research Conference last summer in Denver. If you go back to <a href='https://www.buzzsprout.com/1966271/episodes/10675775'>Episode 4 with Jonny Lisano</a>, you’ll hear a little more about other cannabis and exercise research she’s been up to because Jonny was one of her graduate students! Her lab has since done more research on CBD and exercise, <a href='https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/15/12/2664'>for example this study published in 2023</a> and <a href='https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2949834124000011'>this article from 2024</a>.  One of the big things we talk about in this episode is the difference between research doses of CBD vs. commercially available doses of CBD.
