From gal-dem, this is Our Place Is Here – a collection of personal essays written and spoken by migrant domestic workers living in the UK. In this episode, we’re hearing from Nina, a member of the Filipino Domestic Workers Association, who moved to London from the Philippines in 2004. Her personal essay for gal-dem, ‘Facing the mirror: unpacking the personal and the political’, touches on her intersectional experience as a trans woman and a migrant domestic worker.

This episode was created in partnership with the Our Place Is Here campaign.
