Born in Montreal, he is nicknamed Le Chat, French for The Cat, because of his luck in escaping death after surviving at least three assassination attempts from the Italian mafia, a police shootout, and escaping from police custody three separate times.<br> For the period Between 1965 and 1975, Blass is a prime suspect in 21 murder cases. Richard Blass is a brilliant, arrogant, and very dangerous criminal. He ends up killed by police in cold blood.&nbsp;</p> <p>To this day, one question remains unresolved.
