It's an area that offers a wide array of roles ranging from customer service to corporate finance, providing extensive career opportunities. In addition, rapid digitalisation and innovation is reshaping this sector, presenting new ways for young people to grow, learn, and develop.  Join host Kathryn and guests Joanne and John as they discuss how these changes are affecting young people’s career progression in banking and what the sector is doing to recruit and retain new talent.  Thanks to Joanne Murphy (Chartered Banker Institute Chief Operating Officer), John Walker (EY Foundation alumni and Youth Advisory Board member) and Kathryn Eastwood (EY Foundation Director of Income and Employer Partnerships).  What are you enjoying (or not)? How I Got Here: Roger Wade - CEO, Founder, Entrepreneur: Boxfresh, Boxpark & BoxFund | Careers Unlocked: Ep. 10
Roger Wade talks us through his career journey from market stall to VC fund, by way of streetwear and the world’s first pop-up mall. Roger is the founder and former CEO of BOXPARK and current Chairman of venture capital firm BoxFund. After graduating, Roger started Boxfresh, growing it from a market stall to a hugely successful international brand selling in 12 different countries. In 2010, he founded and created the world’s first pop-up mall, BOXPARK Shoreditch. Here, he shares the secrets of his success; the traits, skills and habits he’s honed along the way; and the advice he’d give his younger self. Not one to miss if you’re interested in finding your way, entrepreneurship, growing a business, and the power of adversity – or if you just want to hear a really interesting story.
