Speculations are rife that Matson may take on the role of Abby Devereaux, previously played by Kate Mansi and Marci Miller. The character Abby, presumed dead, is a central figure in the soap's storyline with her remains mysteriously missing and speculated to be part of an elaborate ruse by Clyde Weston (James Read). DOOL spoilers reveal that in the coming episodes, we see a new Chad DiMera, played by Connor Floyd, and possibly new actors for Thomas DiMera and Charlotte DiMera. Amidst this, another possible scenario could be Matson playing Nicole Walker, a role previously played by Arianne Zucker. Zucker's return to the soap seems unlikely following a sexual harassment lawsuit against former director Albert Alarr and executive producer Ken Corday. Another potential role for Mattsson could be Chloe Lane or Melanie Jonas.  Spoilers for Days of our Lives suggest that with Salem's penchant for resurrection, Abby's return would definitely shake things up, especially with Chad's burgeoning romance with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord). Mattsson's arrival on the show is likely to be in early 2027 due to the soap's advanced tape to air delay schedule.
