<p>When God seems distant, we often live as if this world is all there is, leading to quarreling, jealousy, and grabbing at temporary pleasures. Paul addresses this in 2 Corinthians 13, where the Corinthians were acting as though God was absent from their daily lives. However, God is both transcendent and immanent - beyond us yet intimately present with us. Paul calls us to examine ourselves honestly and recognize where we're seeking meaning in worldly things rather than in God's presence. When we live in the reality of God's presence, we find our identity and purpose in Him rather than in temporary achievements or possessions.</p>
