Justice Mukete is the Country Lead for GivingTuesday Cameroon and Co-Founder of the Refugee Welfare Association Cameroon (REWAC). He is a highly respected bilingual Judge and human rights advocate with over 25 years of experience. He has a deep knowledge of regional conventions in Europe, Africa, and the Americas concerning detention conditions, due process, and restrictions on torture and ill-treatment. Justice Mukete holds a PhD in international law and has attended numerous international courses in development, gender, human rights, and governance. He has made significant contributions in areas such as corporate governance, participatory development, and local leadership. Notably, he handed down a landmark judgment stopping a US Consortium from acquiring 70,000 hectares of community land in Cameroon without the Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) of the indigenous population.
