Description
In January 2012 47 year old Susan McGoldrick, her sister 44 year old Alison Turnball, and her niece (Alison’s daughter) 24 year old Tanya Turnball were shot and killed by Michael Atherton, Susan’s partner. An abusive and violent man who had been arrested for violent incidents towards Susan before, Atherton was able to legally own the guns which he used to kill the three women. A review into the murders criticised the firearms licensing process and missed opportunities to understand the risk that Susan and her family faced. This is the story of Susan McGoldrick, Alison Turnbull and Tanya Turnbull. Join me at CrimeCon Birmingham on 25 April. Head to crimecon.co.uk and use my promo code FAMILY to get 10% off your ticket.
