Iowa beat Nebraska 40-16 on Black Friday, marking the Hawks 7th straight win against the Huskers in Lincoln, the largest winning streak against Nebraska since Oklahoma won 8 in row there from 1943-57. Mark Gronowski threw for 166 and a touchdown, adding 64 rushing yards and another two rushing TDs. The defense stiffened up after allowing Emmett Johnson to 177 yards in the first half. For 3/4ths of Saturday's game against the Spartans, Iowa looked like a completely different team that took Indiana, Oregon and USC to the wire. Iowa was down 17-7 in the 4th, and scored 13 points to knock off the Spartans, still winless in Big Ten play, 20-17. Mark Gronowski completed some clutch passes and threw for 117 of his 147 yards in the final quarter, including one touchdown pass to Jacob Gill.
