Welcome to this special, one-off episode of Where's The Cat?
Earlier this year (2025) we were 'commissioned' / arm-twisted by Devizes Town Council to write, produce and perform a short play to celebrate the town's Crammer pond, the setting of the story of the Moonrakers. It is how the people of Devizes and wider Wiltshire obtained the Moonrakers moniker that survives through to the present day.
The resulting play was performed by members of the Wharf Writers' Group and some of their more gullible friends at the DTC's Crammer Day. Video of the BAFTA-ignored performance can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mykDrNzYVac&t=15s
We decided to record an audio version...and this is it; the totally, historically accurate and not-at-all made up story of The Legend of the Moonrakers.
