This week, we have Craig Whitney and Estefanía Bonilla Hernandez, creators of The Red Note! Craig Whitney is the writer-director of The Red Note podcasts. His short film, The Garden and the Wilderness, was named one of 2013’s best Texas shorts by the Houston Film Commission’s prestigious Texas Filmmakers Showcase. Craig produced and directed the feature-length concert film Miranda Cosgrove: Live In Dallas, filmed music videos for artists including The Chicks’ Natalie Maines, and has directed and produced numerous stage plays.Estefanía Bonilla Hernandez started her film career in 2016 as POC in Transformers 5, Cuba Unit and MGM’s Everything Everything, Mexico Unit in collaboration with the production houses Art In Motion. As a freelancer, she has been involved in the production team for TÓTEM, by Lila Avilés, Where the Tracks End by Ernesto Contreras, Almost Paradise by Edgar San Juan and Un Retrato de Familia by Adrián Zurita, this last one as Director of Production. Nowadays, is Co-CEO of the production house Blue Guitar; where she became Lead Producer for the podcast The Red Note, presented by Lydia Cacho -Nominated for Best Podcast in Spanish in the IHeart Radio Podcast Awards in 2021-. This week's guest is the incredible Elyse Willems! She is a writer, producer, and performer, born in Canada, now living in Los Angeles. Elyse has co-written two video games, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed (2022), and Arcadeggedon (2021). In 2019, Elyse served as showrunner, writer, and cast member of Arizona Circle, a 22-minute, 8-episode sketch series. A year later, she published her first children’s novel, “A Night in Halloween House” (2020), a nostalgic holiday adventure for young readers, which reached #1 in Children’s New Halloween Releases and Children’s Spine-Chilling Horror in Amazon Books. Elyse is the host of PBS SoCal’s Won’t You Be My Gamer, an online series where she interviews a featured expert and plays video games related to their expertise. In 2024, she hosted reveal and launch content for Square Enix’s Life Is Strange: Double Exposure. Every other week, Elyse lets her spooky side show, investigating macabre topics as the creator, co-host, and writer of the 30 Morbid Minutes podcast. A movie fan and buff, Elyse was also the co-host of Warner Bros. Entertainment's official Popcorn & Shield podcast, which covered upcoming releases and classics pulled from the Warner vault.Elyse got her start in the entertainment industry at GameTrailers as a production assistant on Spike TV’s GT.TV with Geoff Keighley. Her role evolved and Elyse was promoted to producer and cast member for the website. In 2015, her love for both video games and comedy brought her to the gaming entertainment group Funhaus, where she spent nine years developing and performing in thousands of hours of video and live content, earning the Funhaus YouTube channel over 1.6 billion overall views, and leaving a lasting legacy in gaming entertainment.
