Now over twenty years later, its origins are being told on our screens.&nbsp;</p><br><p>It’s Mary here, and on this episode of Noted we’re exploring and celebrating Grime music and culture. I’m speaking to Grime legend DJ Target, whose show ‘Grime Kids’ follows the summer plans of a group of young boys in East London in 2001, who go on to create what we now know as Grime.&nbsp;</p><br><p>I want to explore how this homegrown genre came to be, how it allows people to share their lives, and where it fits into our culture today.</p><br><p>BBC music reporter Mark Savage joins me too. I ask him about the way this music scene has evolved over the course of his twenty-year career.
