This subtle deception completely removes the fact that Jesus died to give us "a way of escape." We can resist temptation! We do not have to be who our heart wants us to be.  We have the God-given power to choose because of the shared victory we have as believers in children of God. Thus the entire meaning behind "guide thine heart in the way." WE get to lead our heart, not be led by it. We get to choose!
