<p>Hello and thanks for coming back if you've been here before. If you're new, welcome to Queer World Podcast! It's great to have you with us!</p><p>This week, I am telling you about my meeting with 2 members of Status Queer, a community led activist and social group based in Quito, Ecuador.</p><p>In February 2023 I went to one of Status Queer's social events where I interviewed the lovely Ricardo and Jorge Luis about what the group do.</p><p>There are multiple sides to Status Queer; there is Queer Labs, in which they create research and data sourcing groups to gather statistics and stories about life for LGBTQ+ Ecuadorians with the aim of creating policy reform and recommendation plans for institutions and government. There is also Queer n' Chill, a social meetup that offers an opportunity for the community to meet, connect and get in touch with themselves in a supportive environment of their queer peers.</p><p>Ricardo and Jorge Luis are super smart, passionate and optimistic guys that give me huge hope for the future.
