This week, we’re introducing you to BEING Trans. What's it really like BEING trans? Beyond the headlines and into diverse, everyday lives -- the daily struggles, heartbreaks and triumphs. Lemonada Media brings you reality TV for your ears: an opportunity to BE someone else.
In this episode, the cast tries to reconcile some old ghosts of the past with the future they are working hard to build. Mariana moved to the United States from Guatemala to seek asylum after dealing with hate crimes and anti-trans sentiment there, but a visit back home dredges up old wounds and fears that she attempts to overcome. And back in Los Angeles... Chloe played football through most of her life prior to transitioning and almost went on to coach at the collegiate level. She's looking for a way to reconnect with the sport but is struggling with the masculine image of football and how it might set back her quest to be fully accepted as a woman.

We’re excited to tell you about a brand new storytelling show – hosted and produced by the amazing Lupita Nyong’o – that we are just loving. It’s called Mind Your Own, and it’s about navigating what it means to belong, all from the African perspective.
Lupita Nyong’o knows what home feels like. But where exactly is it? In Mexico, where she was born? Kenya, where she grew up? Or the States, where she’s spent the past 20 years? Like Lupita, millions of Africans are spread out across the globe following family, searching for love, building futures and creating stories. It's these stories – wild and messy, intimate and joyous – that she wants to hear.
Here’s the first episode of Mind Your Own. It’s about what it’s like to try to find your voice. You’ll hear a story from Lupita, and then you’ll meet a Ghanaian who rediscovered his voice after losing it. Rebecca Sugar changed the world of animation with their hit Cartoon Network show, Steven Universe. It redefined what stories children deserve to experience with themes of self love and family trauma. And it was groundbreaking for its representation of queer, nonbinary characters - it even included one of the first same sex marriages to appear in a cartoon for young people. Rebecca joins Sam to share how the animated series helped them process their own identity and what they’ve had to overcome to write music for their first solo album, Spiral Bound.
