After a shaky reconciliation, Bacon and his men find themselves at odds with Governor Berkeley once again. Suspicion leads Bacon to rally an army in Henrico, confronting the governor and demanding permission to fight the attacking natives. A tense showdown in Jamestown forces Berkeley to cede to Bacon's demands—only for the rebellion to escalate further. As Berkeley attempts to recruit support, Bacon solidifies his control and even coerces wealthy planters to support his cause. With daring tactics, Bacon's men capture a ship, but a twist of betrayal allows Berkeley's forces to retake it.
