<p>Why are lifestyle videos so popular, and what are they doing to us? In this episode, I explore how many modern lifestyle videos prioritize atmosphere over personality. Beautiful cafés, minimalist rooms, quiet routines, and carefully edited moments create a calming experience, but they may also encourage creators to suppress strong opinions, imperfections, and individuality. I argue that this gradual “hollowing out” of personality reflects modern loneliness and the fear of conflict. As AI becomes better at producing polished, harmless content, authentic human qualities—contradictions, flaws, passion, and emotional depth—may become more valuable than ever before.</p>
