Sometimes, rejection is loud and clear. Other times, it’s a little more subtle—like a podcast going quiet for a minute (or a season). In this quick update, Rebekah  and Samantha pop in to say hi and share what’s next for Thank You for Your Interest. Spoiler alert: the show is going back on hiatus. It wasn’t the plan, but like any job search (or life, really), things don’t always go according to schedule. We talk candidly about why we’re pausing production, what we learned, and how grateful we are for the stories, support, and solidarity we’ve received from both our guests and  listeners.  This podcast started during a season of uncertainty—and as our personal and professional lives have shifted, so has our capacity to give the show the time and energy it deserves. In her mid-twenties, Rachel joined a company known for its "boys' club" culture. Determined to make a difference, she outperformed her male colleagues,  proving her value at every turn. Along the way, she made it her mission to help others break in and thrive, building a stronger, more inclusive workplace. But success didn’t shield her from systemic discrimination. Despite promises of senior leadership opportunities, Rachel faced repeated setbacks and overt sexism. Asking for help is hard, and repeated rejection only deepens the struggle. But in the end, you don’t know what you don’t know—and realizing that can spark new ideas. ( or “can help blaze a new trail” or “can open doors”) etc.  In this episode, we sit down with Eric Silver, a fellow podcaster who found himself in the tech world during the mid-2010s, working for a quirky startup called Poncho. With a cute, weather-centric mascot, Poncho seemed like a perfectly safe place for a creative to thrive—until an unexpected promotion changed the workplace dynamics.  Eric shares his experience navigating office culture, dealing with an unprofessional manager who preferred to go off script, and recognizing red flags in the workplace.
