Going from two sets of hands to one is a serious shock to the system… but it’s also not quite the same thing.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When you’re doing it on your own, there’s no handover coming. Ever.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;No backup if things go sideways. Ever.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;No one else there (even over the phone) taking responsibility for figuring things out with you.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But weirdly, I think that can make things simpler.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Not logistically, sure.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But cleaner. More straightforward. Way less emotionally complicated.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So this is a bit of a reality check… but also a bit of reassurance if you’ve ever said it yourself and immediately thought, &lt;em&gt;“Oh shit, should I not have said that?”&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You’re fine.
