Adam Blackwell and Amy Stirling met as graduate students in anthropology, both obsessed with studying the same dead language and long-lost culture. Their relationship was always... complicated. They were bitter rivals, ideological opposites, and even went out on a date once - though they’d really prefer if everyone forgot about that last thing, thank you very much. Then, they became the first two people in thousands of years capable of doing magic.Over the next five years, they became global superstars, both revered and feared. Their powers led to a tragedy unlike any the world had seen before. Now, the world's first two magicians of the modern age must figure out the truth of their power, its consequences, and their relationship with one another before they do more damage to the world. The Harbingers is a new fiction podcast created by Gabriel Urbina, directed and sound designed by Jeffrey Nils Gardner. From Audacious Machine Creative.

Episode 13: Sex, Drugs, and Existential Dread

Episode 13: Sex, Drugs, and Existential Dread
Episode 13. In April of 2029, Amy Stirling needed a break. Following recent confrontations and revelations - not to mention rising tensions in her romantic relationship - the Silver Witch was near the end of her tether. The solution seemed clear: a getaway to a luxury penthouse in Las Vegas. But the longer that she and Kris stayed out in the City of Lights, the more Amy seemed to just be pushing the realities of the world away from her - and the closer she teetered to an entirely different sort of collapse.  Be advised: this episode contains strong language, discussions of politics, sexual content, and depictions of excessive drinking, gambling, and drug use. It also mentions, but does not depict, violence, military activity, body horror and gore, and a large-scale disaster. Listener discretion is advised.  The Harbingers was created by Gabriel Urbina. Today's episode was written by Gabriel Urbina. It was directed and sound designed by Jeffrey Nils Gardner. It featured the voices of Lauren Grace Thompson as Amy Stirling, Andrés Enriquez as Adam Blackwell, Emmy Bean as Claudia Skinner, Ian Geers as Kris Middendorf, Olivia Love as Greta, Jill Oliver as Nancy Grief, Casey Callaghan as Darren, Betsey Palmer as Jade, and Wesley Scott as Prince Anatoly. Our original music was composed by Nicholas Podany. Today’s episode also featured Secret by Yuval Maayan and Shelly Archer, and APSHAD by Jaxon Wild. Our original show art was created by Cassie J. Allen. Creator Chat: Gabriel Urbina x Lauren Shippen
We're back with something very exciting- a chat between Harbingers creator Gabriel Urbina and our dear friend Lauren Shippen, creator of the Bright Sessions and more! She's here to talk about her new show 2000 and Late- a fantastic show that you can find wherever you get your podcasts! The show was also sound designed by The Harbingers' Jeffrey Nils Gardner, so you know it sounds good. At the end of the chat, you'll be able to hear the first episode of 2000 and Late. ==== THIS IS HOW TO PROCRASTINATE THE END OF THE WORLD (otherwise known as the nine circles of hell on earth)! What do you do when you're thirty-six years old and you've been possessed by a demon and been fired from your job? You don't let the demon possessing you bring about the apocalypse like it wants to. CONTENT WARNING: This show contains all kinds of bad things: it's set in our modern day, which means it involves discussion of inept government, unfair business practices, labor abuse, small-mindedness, substance abuse, grief and loss, COVID, chronic illness, sexual harassment, and death. There's also quite a bit of swearing, drinking, smoking, violence, arson, and all manner of demonic behavior. This episode in particular involves a car crash. Two Thousand and Late is a production of Atypical Artists and executive produced by Patrick Ellis and Lauren Shippen. The show was created, written, and directed by Lauren Shippen, with the brilliant Octavia Bray as our script consultant. Our spectacular sound design is by the fabulous Jeffrey Nils Gardner, our dazzling original art was created by the first-rate Ellis Carson Jones, and our rollicking theme music is by the ever-wonderful Brandon Grugle. We have many incredible actors lending their voices, so I'll let them speak for themselves, in order of appearance: Margaret Burrus as Maddie, Elena Victora Feliz as Gemma, Vikki Kelleher as Carol, Candace McAfee as Rory, and Tyler Moody as Sid. Oh, and of course, Lauren Shippen plays both Harper and Havoc, she really is so self-obsessed. For more information about the show, please visit harperandhavoc.com. Our advertising is arranged by Multitude, so please get in touch with them if you'd like to participate in the glory that is capitalism at [email protected]. Alright, that's all for now. Until next time, go out and wreak some havoc.
