What no one says out loud about being a step parent step-parent - with Kris Byrnes
Kris Byrnes became a step-parent when she was 24, before she’d had children of her own. Now Kris & her husband are raising 4 children together - two from her husband’s previous relationship and two of their own. Kris has taken everything she has learned from step-parents and now offers coaching to others who are navigating blended families. In all the years of making KICBump, we’ve never dedicated an episode to step-parents, so we were thrilled to cross paths with Kris! In this episode Steph sits down with Kris to learn more about her experience becoming a step-parent at 24, her & her husband’s decision to have children of their own, and the challenges that Kris encounters in her coaching work - including deciding whether or not step-parenting is for you, parental alienation, what step-parenting does to your romantic relationship, and more.
