We the Peacemakers

This conversation might not have been as two-sided since Emma and I fall on the same side of this issue but it still shows how helpful and empowering it can be to have hope-centered conversations focused on action rather than having our conversations be a constant cycle of negativity!

I liked this conversation, not just because I love chatting with Sophie and Josh but also because I was forced to express some opinions that I hadn't fully formed or figured out yet. Although doing so feels uncomfortable, it always helps me figure out what I actually believe and value rather than just having vague reasons in my head for my opinion that don't actually hold weight once I say them out loud! Lance exemplifies a couple of important peacemaking skills in this conversation about tariffs: acknowledging his own bias, feeling comfortable pushing back with information rather than emotion, and talking about asking questions with a curiosity mindset (to understand not be understood).
