The Left's Civil War (Ft. Daniel from What Is Politics?)

Get access to The Backroom, with 100+ exclusive episodes of 1Dime Radio, on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/OneDime In The Backroom, we discuss the topic of dating, Socialism & civilization, and debate whether libertarian socialism can scale. In this episode of 1Dime Radio, I am joined by Daniel from the YouTube channel What Is Politics? to unpack what we call the “Lizard Left”: the use of egalitarian and left-wing language to reproduce hierarchy, status competition, and social control. We discuss wokeism and the Socialism Conference, the DSA and the “rebel priest class,” why the left struggles to connect with ordinary people, what socialism actually means beyond the Soviet legacy, whether socialism can scale, and what dating apps, social clubs, tribalism, civilization, birth rates, and immigration reveal about the deeper problem of rebuilding a viable left. The second half of the conversation continues in the Patreon-exclusive Backroom. You can listen to 1Dime Radio on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get podcasts.
