Description
The Giants got some encouraging immediate messaging around Jaxson Dart’s knee, but the 28-6 loss showed just how quickly the offense unraveled without him. New York now has to figure out what Dart’s injury means while dealing with problems that went well beyond the quarterback position.

How much did losing Jaxson Dart change Giants-Rams?
His exit dramatically changed New York’s offense, but it does not explain 481 yards allowed, Davante Adams going for 195 yards, or the Giants repeatedly failing to capitalize on defensive takeaways.
Drew and Rob begin with Dart’s left knee. He left on the opening drive after completing 3-of-5 passes for 20 yards and never returned. They break down what was actually said after the game, why they are not buying into unconfirmed social-media recovery timelines, and why Dart’s status matters far more than the final score.
Without Dart, the offense fell apart. Jameis Winston finished 11-of-27 for 111 yards with an interception and a 37.7 passer rating. The Giants produced only 182 total yards, averaged 3.3 yards per play, converted 3-of-14 third downs and went 0-for-2 in the red zone. That leads to a bigger question: has Dart’s mobility been covering up problems along the offensive line?
Jevón Holland gave New York chance after chance. He recorded an interception, forced two fumbles and recovered one himself, but the Giants could barely turn those takeaways into points.
How does a defense create that many opportunities and still watch the game get away?
Davante Adams was the answer to almost everything Los Angeles needed offensively. He finished with eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns as the Giants’ depleted secondary struggled to find any matchup that could slow him down. Matthew Stafford threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns, and the Rams finished with 481 total yards while averaging eight yards per play.
The injury list also kept growing. Drew and Rob react to the postgame developments involving Malik Nabers, Brian Burns, Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor while trying to separate what was known after the game from what still required further evaluation.
There were a few positives, especially on special teams, but the larger message is clear: Week 1 showed why Giants fans were excited, while Week 2 showed how much work remains. New York is 1-1, Tennessee is next, and everything now starts with the health of Jaxson Dart.
