When Pastor Jim spoke about the tendency of all people toward idolatry, how did that strike you?  Do you believe this is true? Why or why not? Jesus pulled the thread on the rich young man’s efforts to follow the commandments and be self-justified. Jesus ultimately exposed the inadequacy of relying on good works for salvation. Discuss the place of works in your own journey with Christ. In an effort to focus on Christ, discuss how well you do in the day to day at seeing God as the giver of all good things? If all things belong to the Lord how do you seek to steward those resources for the glory of God? Giving to the things of the Lord is a challenge for many Christ followers.
