Ben Stevens

http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-snc4/hs645.snc3/27539_24423230687_6076_n.jpg

Chances are the first time you heard the name of Ben Stevens, it was none other than Paul Glazby tipping the aspiring DJ for the top.

And in the half a decade or so since he first grabbed the attention of the revered Vicious Circle head honcho, Stevens has never had any problem living up to such high expectations.

Glazby’s faith in the youngster saw him land pivotal roles in the development of the Vicious Circle stable, both in A&R and event management, and as a result Stevens has a sense of professionalism that belies his 26 years.

Regarded by many of his peers as a technical genius on the wheels of steel, beatmaster Ben has become one of the most in-demand hard house DJs in Britain, with regular slots at high-profile events such as Frantic, Polysexual, Creamfields and the Tidy Weekenders.

Ben has enjoyed many bookings in Ireland and Europe, including arguably the best festival on the continent – Dance Valley in Amsterdam.

With tours of Australia, Canada and New Zealand under his belt, the acclaimed DJ’s international profile is consistently growing, and it was given a great boost when he deservedly scooped the illustrious Mixmag Future Hero gong at the Hard Dance Awards in 2006.

There are two superb albums which best illustrate the talented mix maestro’s skills. In 2005 he effectively filled Andy Farley’s shoes on the seminal I Love VC set, and a year later he teamed up with the guru, Glazby, for the devastating back-to-back compilation, A Retrospective of Vicious.

The gifted youngster has also found time to hone his skills in the studio, producing three gargantuan solo singles for the Vicious label – ‘Wake-Up Call’, ‘Crowd Rocker’ and ‘Swarm – and appearing on the legendary 10 Commandments series no fewer than three times.

Some of the UK’s other leading labels have also secured his services: Flashpoint, Tripoli Trax and Energy UK among them.

Ben’s label Fireball Recordings has hit the top of the charts on all the download stores and has had plays for all the major hard dance dj’s.

The new label kicked off with the seismic Stevens double-header ‘The Warning’/’Supergroover’, a really strong package which sets dancefloors alight and reminds you how diverse and entertaining that hard house can be.

The abilities and talents of Ben Stevens are without question: whether producing tunes or playing them, he knows exactly how to work a dancefloor and raise the roof off a club.

Nukleuz DJs

Formed in 2002 for the DJ Nation series, Nukleuz DJs represented the cream of emerging hard dance talent on Nukleuz and over various projects have included legends such as BK, Ed Real, Vinylgroover, Andy Farley, Nick Sentience, Mark Richardson, Darren Styles, Mark Breeze, Organ Donors, Phil Reynolds, Dave Randall, Disco Brothers, Nick Lunn, Sterling Moss and The Edison Factor. Now fronted by Nukleuz’s own Head of A&R Dave Louca and in-house studio whizz kid JAKAZiD Nukleuz DJs have taken up the reins of this respected association of harder dance talent.

Having sold over 20,000 copies and been the first 12” only release to hit the Top 40 for over a decade as well as being crowned single of the month in Mixmag, Muzik and IDJ the first DJ Nation EP series set in stone that hard dance was a strong and vibrant scene and flew in the face of falling vinyl sales. This was followed up in 2003 with DJ Nation: Bootleg Edition which went on to achieve the same monstrous level of success! This was later followed up by DJ Nation: Harder Edition, 3 vinyls of killer cuts for the harder generation.

Frantic Residents 07: Mixed by Proteus & Cally Gage – Out Now

Frantic Residents 07 is out now – Mixed by Proteus and CallyGage  .

Buy exclusive now on iTunes.

Four years on from the release of the last episode, FR07 breaks from the single DJ mix mould and gives each DJ their own mix to play with for 2 DJ Mixes of the biggest hard dance anthems past, present and future, timed to coincide with Frantic’s 13th Birthday. Featuring tracks from legendary classic artists like BK, Vinylgroover, Fergie, Organ Donors, Lab 4 and Kevin Energy as well as leaders of the nu skool like Technikal, Andy Whitby & more!

The explosion of Hard House in the late 1990’s created one of the most exciting and successful dance music explosions both in terms of the music released and the parties and events it spawned. Frantic and Nukleuz were fused at the hip from the birth of the scene and together forged the now legendary Frantic Residents album series which showcased the hottest DJ and production talent in the world doing what they do best. Most of these CDs, made as limited edition runs now pop up on eBay for up to £50 a time!

The Frantic Residents CDs were designed to be an antidote to the big budget TV advertised compilations that were dominating the market at the time and represented the sound of Frantic & Nukleuz, its core DJs and the full spectrum of harder dance. These international sounds have seen a renaissance over the past 6 months growing from their core home territories of UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Finland and Australia to encompass the globe especially the USA where Hardstyle is fast becoming the most popular and fastest growing rave scene of 2010.

PROTEUS

Finnish sensation Proteus opens up proceedings with his own brand of industrial, metal influenced hardstyle fusing classic anthems with hot upfront exclusives and leads the growing ranks of hardstyle DJs currently headlining at Frantic’s events due to the massive growth in the scene internationally especially in the UK and USA.

Proteus shot to prominence in 2004 when he was voted “Best Hard Dance DJ” two years in a row at the Hard Dance Awards and made the coveted DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list these years as well! He can boast sets alongside Prodigy and Juno Reactor as well as being a Frantic Resident.

Proteus is also famous for his Proteus Live Show which is breaking boundaries between dance music and industrial metal concert. Proteus plays electric guitar, keyboards and percussions with his full band and they have done several big shows in Finland for 3000 people and for the full Brixton Academy in London!

“Frantic is and has always been one of the most strongest forces in global Hard Dance scene. Frantic is a name that people every where, like here in Finland, knows very well and respects!”

http://nukleuz.com/artistinfo/proteus-biography/

CALLY GAGE

Cally Gage drops a bomb on CD2 and shows why she is the hottest female talent in the scene today, showcasing the other side to Frantic’s events, a combination of high energy hard house, NRG and hard trance.

Cally started off her career in fine style winning the Tidy Summer Camp DJ Competition in July 2004 and since then has achieved more than most DJs achieve in a decade, successfully carving out a well deserved reputation as one who consistently delivers floor-filling, jaw dropping, crowd delighting sets; these are Cally’s trademarks.

Cally’s relentless passion is further rewarded as she becomes this year’s Storm resident alongside her position as a key Frantic Resident and coincides with her move to CODA Agency, (the same agency team responsible for Calvin Harris, Annie Mac, and Fergie). This huge milestone underlines Cally Gage as a true global artiste at the top of her game.

“Frantic is always one of those parties that you look forward to playing at every single time – you get excited waiting to see what they’re going to do next. They always pull out all the stops and put that extra special effort into everything they do – this is what sets them miles ahead of the rest. Frantic rocks, there’s no doubt about that!”

FRANTIC 13

On Bank Holiday Sunday 29th August 2010, Koko in Camden plays host to Frantic’s 13th Birthday celebrations – 13 Years of Frantic / 25 DJs / 1500 Ravers & U!
The number 13 is unlucky for some but here at Frantic HQ we feel it’s lucky for us as we have been rocking the Hard Dance world for 13 years! To celebrate this ground-breaking milestone for London’s biggest and longest running Hard Dance brand we want you to come party with us in a Casino and Las Vegas theme. There are endless possibilities for fancy dress including Croupiers, Playboy Bunnies, Show Girls, Dice, Packs of Cards, Kings, Queens, Jacks, Jokers, Elvis and James Bond. So get involved and get creative!

Gem Stone

Gem Stone began mixing at the tender age of 15 and never looked back: she’s spent the last ten years honing her DJing skills and today is one of hard house’s freshest and hardest up and coming female DJ’s.
Her infectious blend of fast and furious hard house tracks has been lapped up by dancefloors across the UK for over four years now and she’s a superb and dedicated performer behind the decks.

Gem’s signature style is hard kicks, driving basslines, fat synths and acid lines which set her apart from other emerging DJ’s. She cites her influences as Dave Owens, Defective Audio, Andy Farley & Frank Farrell.

Gem’s had her fair share of major club appearances:
she hit the mainstream in 2006 when she won the Sundissential and Clubbed Up DJ competition and since then has played at events like;

ROB DA RHYTHM

Alan Robertson a.k.a Rob Da Rhythm first learned to mix back in 1994 at the tender age of 13. Rather than limiting himself to one style he has mastered and follows a wide variety of music ranging from melodic Trance through pumping Hard House and banging Hardstyle to fast & furious Gabber, with a record collection at his disposal to cater for any almost any kind of set in the hard dance spectrum. Robs two main styles he is booked for now are Hardstyle & Gabber.

Over the last four years the demand for him as a DJ has gone through the roof playing at parties all over the UK every Friday and Saturday, and is now without a doubt the most ‘in demand’ Hardcore DJ in Scotland and his Hardstyle bookings are quickly catching up. Over the last few years he has been booked for 100s of parties up and down the country including the likes of:-
Fantazia @ Breahead Areana,
Coloursfest @ Breahead Arena,
Judgment Day @ RATT,
Lashed Republica @ Arches,
Species Manchester and many more and holds residencies at
Twisted & Brainfire @ Archaos (Gabber) and Infexious @ Club Clinic (Harddance & Hardstyle)

Not happy with DJing every weekend – Rob is also a full time promoter. At the start of 2001 he started his own club ‘Brainfire’ showcasing the finest Hardtrance to Hardcore, then in 2002 he joined forces with Al Twisted and Glasgow’s legendary Twisted & Brainfire parties where born. Rob also co-promotes and resides at Glasgow based nights Infexious & techno party Download! Infexious has really kicked off with every night selling out, the night focuses mainly on Hardstyle and has already seen the likes of Lady Dana, Mark EG and Dark By Design Grace the decks! Rob also has a few productions under his belt, including his tune with Al “Beat On The Drumz”, which came out early 2006 and was the first Gabber track to feature on the massive Hard Dance label Nukleuz + major album appearances.
