#380 Difficult Elderly Parents with Sandra Beck
Sandra Beck, the host of Motherhood Talk Radio, delves into a deeply sensitive and crucial topic with the guidance of mindful aging authorities Amanda Lambert and Leslie Eckford. The conversation centers around the challenging situations caregivers face when elderly parents or family members, under their care, resist or outright refuse to adhere to the caregiving plans set out for them. This resistance is particularly pronounced when logical reasoning fails to persuade, or when the individuals are navigating the complexities of Alzheimer's or dementia. Throughout this insightful dialogue, Lambert and Eckford share a wealth of strategies designed to help caregivers navigate these tough scenarios. They provide practical tips on how to approach caregiving with empathy, patience, and understanding, emphasizing the importance of maintaining dignity and respect for the elderly. The discussion aims to equip listeners with the tools and knowledge to manage caregiving challenges effectively, ensuring the well-being of both the caregiver and the elderly individual.
