Description

The Mets beat the Phillies last night as Francisco Lindor hit a grand slam to propel them into the NLCS. Finally, our team is the one surprising other teams. When Lindor was rounding the bases, he looked like he expected to do it. And the fact it was against the Phillies made it even more spectacular. Gio said if Carlos Mendoza has one flaw, it’s trusting Edwin Diaz too much. Gio said you can see the lack of confidence on Diaz’s face when he’s walking guys. Then as soon as he strikes someone out, the confident face shows up. Giancarlo Stanton homered and actually stole a base last night. People are not liking Bob Costas on the Yankees broadcasts. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and he starts with the Howie Rose call of the Lindor grand slam. After the game Lindor talked about his approach to his grand slam at bat. Diaz talked about getting the save. Nick Castellanos talked about how well the Mets played but said they were the better team overall but not this series. Jerry had John Sterling on the call as Giancarlo Stanton hit a HR. Aaron Rodgers was on with Pat McAfee to say he had nothing to do with Rob Saleh’s firing. In the final segment of the hour, a caller talked about the transformation of Francisco Lindor and the trade for Jose Iglesias. Boomer talked about the importance of the Mets pitching in the playoffs.
