Drop Emotional Baggage and Smash Through Mental Blocks with Dr. Bradley Nelson
Did you know that <strong>your heart</strong> has a brain?<br /><br />In fact, there are more connections running from the heart to the brain than from the brain to the heart! (Think about that for a second.)<br /><br />We've all heard the expression "dying of a broken heart." It may sound hard to believe, but the phenomenon is quite real. <br /><br />Unresolved emotions like grief, anger, or fear can quietly build pressure in the body and contribute to issues like high blood pressure, heart rhythm problems, and worse. <br /><br />The hidden strain of emotional pains of the past affect the physical health of the heart, taking a toll over a lifetime of real and imagined stressors. <br /><br />Your <strong>emotional health</strong> is a direct input into your physical health. <br /><br />So before you ignore your body and reflexively say "<em>I'm fine</em>," now is a good time to take a deep breath, check in with yourself for a moment and ask,<strong> "</strong><strong><em>how do I feel in my heart?</em></strong><strong>"<br /></strong><br />When we're hurt physically or emotionally, our body and nervous system naturally engage guarding mechanisms.
