Also today in 1867, Harvard School of Dental Medicine was established in Boston, Massachusetts. It is the first dental school in the U.S. that is affiliated with a university.<br />
125 years ago today, NEC Corporation was organized as the first Japanese joint venture with foreign capital.<br />
It was 122 years ago today that Willis Carrier created the first air conditioner in Buffalo, New York.<br />
That same date in 1938, Douglas Corrigan took off from Brooklyn to fly the &#8220;wrong way&#8221; to Ireland and became known as &#8220;Wrong Way&#8221; Corrigan.<br />
