Brentford put the disappointing defeat against Manchester United behind them and look forward to the first visit of Ipswich Town to Brentford’s new stadium. Ipswich v Ipswich was a regular occurrence in The Championship with Brentford eventually taking the lift up and out of the Championship to the Premier League whereas Ipswich took another lift to the basement, finding themselves in Division 1
But successive promotions have seen the two side buck heads again with a stubborn Ipswich side failing to lie down, determined to prove all the detractors wrong about their predicted first season relegation
