This story links two corners of the Americas in a way you may have never imagined. After the U.S. Civil War, many slave owners from the American South left their country for Brazil, where slavery was still legal. We speak with journalist Mimi Dwyer, who wrote for Vice magazine about the legacy of the “Confederados” in a town called Americana.
