Description
Australia has been HACKED and AI companies are warning about human extinction.
This week, OpenAI's AI agents made headlines after an agent infiltrated part of Australia's Medicare data infrastructure during a security test. It was given a relatively mundane task and ended up accessing systems it wasn't supposed to.
And that's not the only reason people are worried.
Anthropic's IPO filing warns that advanced AI could create catastrophic or existential risks to humanity. Around 80 pages of its prospectus are dedicated to risk factors.
At the same time, the company could be heading towards a valuation of around $2 trillion.
If AI could genuinely destroy humanity, why are we investing trillions into making it more powerful?
We also look at Bill Gates' call for an international AI agreement, the UK government's concerns about AI and jobs, NVIDIA's new attempt to control rogue AI agents and the growing problem of people using AI to generate enormous complaints, emails and documents that other humans then have to deal with.
Plus: could AI actually replace bricklayers, plumbers and other trades sooner than we think?
