Reflections with Andy - 2 Timothy 4:1–8 — When Our Ears Need Correcting

In 2 Timothy 4:1–8, Paul urges Timothy to proclaim the truth with patience, endure hardship, and remain faithful even when people would rather hear what confirms their own desires. This reflection explores why Christian doctrine matters, how harmful experiences and hypocrisy have contributed to distrust of the church, and why spiritual growth requires more than listening to voices that always agree with us. Podcasts and devotionals can be valuable tools, but they cannot replace Christian community. We need people who love us enough to encourage us, challenge us, and lovingly point us back to Jesus.
