#146 The Calm You Crave Is a Tomb With Good Weather

You say you want peace. You want the noise in your head to finally stop. But ask yourself: what would you do with silence? What would you do with a day that asked nothing of you, that didn't claw at your chest? You wouldn't know. You have built your whole identity out of being tormented. The man who begs to feel nothing is not asking for freedom. He is asking for a smaller cage. A cage he doesn't notice anymore. There is a difference between being free and being too exhausted to feel the chains.
