Discussion & Drinks: AI, Songwriting & the Struggle to Be Heard

Send us Fan Mail Is original music getting harder to create, share, and get people to care about? On this episode of **Discussions & Drinks**, we're talking about the changing world of songwriting, AI-generated music, and the challenges facing original artists. We get into the controversy surrounding DistroKid and music being removed from streaming platforms, debate whether writing lyrics for an AI-generated song makes you a songwriter, and talk about what it means to create something that's actually yours. We also discuss the challenges of performing original music on Long Island, NY, why sometimes you need to venture into New York City and other music scenes to find your audience, and how much of a song's personal backstory you should share before it starts influencing what listeners take away from it. Plus, why do so many creative people have trouble accepting compliments? And why is it so easy to downplay something you've worked hard to create? And because it's Discussions & Drinks, we also put a sangria seltzer to the test—both on its own and with a little rum. Original music, creative confidence, AI, and a few drinks. Just another conversation that goes wherever it goes. **Join the discussion:** Do you think AI is changing music for better or worse? And how much should a songwriter reveal about what a song really means? #DiscussionsAndDrinks #BaconIsMyPodcast #OriginalMusic #Songwriting #AIMusic #LongIslandMusic Want some visual Bacon is My Podcast?
