12: Dread Nation by Justina Ireland

This week we look at Justina Ireland's book, Dread Nation, a historical zombie thriller that takes place in an alternative universe in which the Civil War ended when the dead at Gettysburg began to rise up and consume soldiers from both armies. We discuss unreliable narrators, breathing in corsets and Brie has complicated feelings. As promised here are a couple review from other reviewers which discuss the issues Brie raises; https://americanindiansinchildrensliterature.blogspot.com/2018/05/twitter-thread-on-justina-irelands.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_BKa_B2_hA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy2388CLmIk You can find us on twitter @badtastebookpod or send us an email at [email protected]
