“Perspective: Are We Living In the Last Days?” | SOON - Week 1 | October 18th, 2026 In Week 1 of the SOON series, Pastor Jason Britt addresses the uniqueness of the times in which we live. While time itself hasn't sped up, the human experience and the pace of technological and social change have accelerated exponentially. Looking at Acts 1 and Revelation 1, Pastor Jason reframes the return of Christ - moving away from fear, sensationalism, and timeline speculation, and shifting toward hopeful obedience, biblical alertness, and confidence in the ultimate victory of King Jesus. 💡 Key Takeaways: • Accelerated Human Experience: While time moves at the same pace, technological acceleration (from the industrial revolution to AI) has compressed history and reshaped how we absorb fear, distraction, and deception. • Hopeful Obedience Over Fear: The promise of Christ's return is not meant to fuel speculative panic or date-setting, but to spur faithful, everyday obedience right where our feet are planted. • Frequency and Intensity: Just like birth pains, the end times are marked by an increase in the frequency and intensity of cultural shifts and turmoil-calling the church to be awake rather than asleep. • The Supernatural Reality: The core of Christian belief-from the virgin birth and resurrection to the ascension and second coming-is inherently supernatural; we must not domesticate our faith. • Jesus Holds the Keys: In Revelation 1, Jesus is unveiled not as a helpless infant, but as the glorified King who holds the keys of death and Hades. Our perspective rests on knowing He wins.   ✝️ Scripture References: • Acts 1:6-11 • Matthew 24:36 • Luke 21:28  • Revelation 1:12-18  📌 Timestamps: • 00:00 - Series Intro Video: Time & The Promise of Christ's Return • 01:03 - Defining Perspective & The Air We Breathe • 03:31 - The 60-Minute History Clock: The Exponential Acceleration of Change • 08:00 - Standing in the 4th Quarter: Are We Fully Awake? • 09:22 - Reading Acts 1:6-11 (The Promise of the Second Coming) • 12:00 - Reframing the Second Coming: From Fear to Hopeful Obedience • 15:23 - Homework Challenge: Read Matthew 24, Luke 21 & Your Newsfeed • 17:15 - Rejecting Date-Setting & Sensationalism • 19:10 - Birth Pains: Frequency and Intensity • 21:40 - Three Cultural Camps Regarding Prophecy (Obsessed, Freaked Out, Disengaged) • 27:32 - The Supernatural Reality of the Gospel Message • 29:40 - The Warning to the Church: Seduction, Assimilation & Sleepwalking • 33:30 - Revelation = The Unveiling of the Glorified King • 38:50 - Reading Revelation 1:12-18 (The Vision of Jesus on Patmos) • 42:10 - Jesus Wins: Living From Victory, Not For Victory • 43:45 - Call to Worship & Spiritual Awakening 📲 Download the new Bethlehem Church App to stay connected, access resources, and take your next step with us today! 🔗 Connect With Us: • First Time?
