I like having a plan, doing the work, and knowing where I stand. But Paul catches the moment that good discipline turns into the idea that I can finish by myself what God began by grace. Jesus tells me to keep asking. That’s not an invitation to wear God down until he signs my purchase order. The gift he names is the Holy Spirit. And the promise in that song from Luke is freedom to serve God without fear. So I can bring him a real need without pretending I know every answer. I still have work to do. I just don’t have to confuse being responsible with being self-sufficient. Needing God isn’t a failure to grow up.
