California’s latest test scores show 49% of students proficient or advanced in English and just 38% in math. Fresno Unified’s scores remain low despite improvement, while Kings Canyon Unified is posting much stronger results. The bigger picture remains troubling: more than half of California students still aren’t meeting standards in either core subject.
