Description
I've been working on one of the biggest projects of my career.
And I needed some advice.
A major European company hired me to create a customized Ai training experience for an organization with thousands of employees.
The goal? Help people think bigger, embrace new technology, and discover entirely new ways to solve problems.
Sounds exciting, right?
It is.
But after decades of teaching entrepreneurs, I was suddenly preparing to work with a very different audience.
Different countries. Different languages. Different departments. Different attitudes toward Ai.
And some people who might not want to be there at all.
So I turned to my friend and Capability Amplifier co-host, Dan Sullivan.
What happened next was one of the most useful coaching conversations I've had in a long time.
Dan walked me through a simple framework he uses at Strategic Coach to help people understand what's working, what's not working, and what they can do differently.
Then he introduced three types of people you'll find in almost every group: players, shoppers, and prisoners.
That alone changed how I was thinking about the entire experience.
We also explored the Four C's of confidence, the psychology of change, and why helping people feel comfortable with new ideas can be more important than teaching them another tool.
IN THIS EPISODE:
Why I took on one of the most challenging projects of my career
Dan's framework for simplifying complex business problems
The three types of people you'll encounter when leading a team
How to help people think bigger when they're stuck
Why successful organizations struggle with complexity
The Four C's - commitment, courage, capability, and confidence
How to make Ai training more engaging and useful
Why the best learning experiences start with the people in the room
One of my favorite moments comes near the end when Dan shares a simple lesson about being a great host.
It completely reframed how I was thinking about the event.
If you're an entrepreneur, founder, or leader taking on something bigger than you've done before, I think you'll appreciate this conversation.
