Oatmeal Cookie Sandwiches: A Forgotten Favorite

Carla Hall recreates her grandmother's beloved oatmeal cookie sandwich with cream cheese buttercream filling—a forgotten favorite that tastes like a gourmet homemade version of those iconic childhood snacks. On this episode of Chewed Up Show, hosts Michael Symon and Carla Hall explore nostalgic food without Clinton Kelly, who's under the weather. They discuss the science of baking the perfect cookie—crispy exterior, chewy interior—and why using salted butter and brown sugar makes all the difference. From Little Debbie memories to unexpected flavor pairings, Michael and Carla chat about how food triggers our most powerful memories and why some recipes deserve a comeback. The episode also features fan mail on electric stove cooking tips, Michael's premium knife collection, and a debate about whether TV was better before streaming. Plus, see what they're giving away at the end! 🙌 Special Thanks to Our Sponsors: ButcherBox → High-quality meat and seafood delivered straight to your door, making it easier to keep your freezer stocked and dinner simple. https://butcherbox.com/chewed Frontgate → Premium home, kitchen, and entertaining essentials — including Michael Symon's collection featured on the show.https://frontgate.com FreshDirect → Fresh groceries delivered straight to your door.https://www.freshdirect.com Subscribe to Chewed Up Show for new episodes every Monday, and Wednesday.
