The Apocalypse of Saint John the Apostle Chapter 15 "They that have overcome the beast, glorify God. Of the seven angels with the seven vials."
Hope; Of the Angelical Salutation; 39. What doth it profit us to use this manner of salutation?
November 1 Feast of All Saints: Apostles, Martyrs, Confessors, and Virgins
November 4 Feast of the martyrs Saint Agricola and Saint Vitalis, of Bologna
In this episode, we open with prayer and then continue our Bible study in Revelation 15, reflecting on the vision of those who overcame the beast, the song of Moses and the Lamb, and the seven angels bearing the final plagues. We also connect Revelation 15:4 to Jeremiah 10:7, highlighting the Lord as the true King of the nations. From there, we move into a catechetical meditation on the Hail Mary through St. Peter Canisius, focusing on how this prayer reminds us of the Father’s saving work in Christ through Mary and why the Church so reverently honors her.
We then spend most of the episode on All Saints Day, reading from The Golden Legend about the history and meaning of the feast: its connection to the Pantheon’s conversion into Santa Maria ad Martyres, the Church’s desire to honor all saints together, and the reasons the saints are venerated and invoked. We close with a reading from St. Alphonsus Liguori’s Victories of the Martyrs on Saints Agricola and Vitalis of Bologna, whose courage under persecution offers a final witness of steadfast faith, before ending our time together in prayer.
